9 to 5

I'm about to start a wonderful new job at UCLA as a writer in the Development unit of the College of Letters & Science. It's full-time. Full-time. You know what that means... is in me, part of me, in every bone and pore and blood vessel. It will always find a way to come out. And I love to write. And I love UCLA. Life is good.

how many months later.......?

Unaware of how so much time went by between postings, she tries again!
My new EP, Perfect World, is out in the world now, and I hope it's going to reach lots of people in its own little way. Six songs might not seem like much, but they are six songs from the bottom of my heart and deep within my soul. They are stories, musings, imaginings..the words and music knitted together with chords and melodies and phrasings and harmonies. (So many "ands," I know, but that's how it is.)

If you have a favorite line in any of my songs, please tell me in the "Comments" section. It is so interesting to me how people interpret what I've written.

Letting Go

Experimenting here with my first blog. Have I got anything interesting enough to say here? We'll see. I think I'll start by talking about "Letting Go," the song I wrote when my son left for college. My daughter is now about to leave for college, and I feel every single one of these words just as keenly as I did when I first wrote the song. "Counting down to zero in my head. Hanging on to you by a thread. You're ready to fly away. How I've been dreading this day." But I know she's ready to go and I have to let her go.
